Break-in · vandalism · forced-entry · storm damage · flood-affected
We handle the locksmith side of your claim end-to-end — secure the property tonight, replace what's needed, and give you the paperwork your insurer actually asks for.
Simple Process
No fuss. No back-and-forth with insurers because something's missing. Five steps from break-in to claim filed.
Day or night. We confirm fixed price, ETA, and what we need from you (crime ref if it's a break-in).
Boarding-up, temporary lock, or full replacement — whatever the property needs to be safe overnight.
Dated photos before/after, written notes on damage, parts list. We send you everything by email or WhatsApp.
VAT-compliant invoice, parts and labour split, BS / TS standards listed. Forwards straight to your insurer.
Once your claim is approved, we come back and finish (new glass, full lock spec, frame repair). One contractor, start to finish.
Documentation
Parts and labour split out separately, makes & models of locks and components, BS3621 / TS007 / Sold Secure standards listed where applicable. Sent by email same day.
Wide shot + close-ups of the damage, photos of removed components, photos of replacement parts in place. Insurer-grade visual record.
Plain-English written summary of what was damaged and what was done. Mentions whether the lock met BS3621 (some policies require this).
£2m public liability insurance certificate available on request — some insurers ask for the contractor's PL cert before settling.
MLA membership reference, DBS-checked status, trade-association numbers. We can supply directly to the loss adjuster on request.
If the adjuster wants to speak to the contractor (it's common), give them our number. We answer, we explain, we move it along.
Common Claim Types
Damaged locks, splintered frame, kicked-in door. We secure tonight, document everything, fit BS3621 replacement when the claim's approved.
Boarding-up tonight, sealed unit ordered, fitted within days. Full size and spec recorded for the claim.
Re-key or replace cylinders so old keys are useless. Receipt for the claim plus the standard stamp ("BS3621" / "TS007 3-star").
Doors blown off hinges, frames dislodged, multi-point gearboxes seized. We secure the property and quote the rebuild.
Locks seize, gearboxes corrode, wooden frames swell. We assess what's recoverable, what's not, and document for the claim.
Glued locks, paint, graffiti-damaged ironmongery. Replace damaged parts, document for the police report & insurer.
FAQ
Most home insurance policies cover emergency boarding-up and lock changes after forced entry — usually under "emergency repairs" or "buildings cover". Some policies cap the emergency element (often around £500); we'll work to that cap and itemise everything so the claim is straightforward. Always call the police first for a crime reference number — insurers ask for it.
Yes, exclusively for insurance-approved work. BS3621 is the British Standard for "thief-resistant" mortice locks — most home insurance policies require it on final-exit doors. We carry stock and fit them straight away. Your invoice and incident report will both list the standard explicitly so the insurer has no reason to query.
In most cases the customer pays us and reclaims from the insurer with our invoice — this is the fastest route. For larger jobs (commercial / block-management / loss-adjuster-led claims) we can sometimes invoice the insurer or contractor panel directly. Mention this on the call and we'll work out the cleanest billing route.
Absolutely — this is normal. Forward our number to the adjuster (07300 177738) and let them know we're expecting their call. We'll explain what we found, what was replaced, and confirm BS / TS standards. Most adjusters just need a 2-minute call to release the claim.
Some policies cover "lost or stolen keys" which can include keys held by someone who shouldn't have them. Check your wording — the term to search for is "loss of keys" or "key replacement". We can fit the locks the same day and you handle the claim afterwards. We'll provide everything you need to support it.
Call us first — we'll secure the property tonight and have the paperwork your insurer needs ready before you finish the claim form.
